At Wellness Pharmacy, we’re committed to giving our patients the tools and education they need to manage and improve their own health.

We have developed a series of health clinics and education seminars that are offered in our pharmacies. In addition, we also participate in community programs to bring our clinics and seminars to community centres, workplaces, and outreach centres in local neighbourhoods. These clinics and seminars are an opportunity for our pharmacists to have one-on-one discussions with patients to talk about their health conditions and medications, and answer any questions they may have.

Disease screening means better health outcomes for our patients

A main focus of our health clinics is to conduct screening for chronic medical conditions that might otherwise go undetected. Offered tests include blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol and bone density. In addition, our pharmacists perform a risk assessment based on the most recent guidelines to educate patients on their level of risk and to assist in determining the next step in providing individualized care.

If there are indications that attention is required, we use our clinical judgment to determine the best course of action, which may include referring the patient to their physician for further testing or follow up.

Individual consultations with a pharmacist

If you are identified during a screening session, you can request an individual pharmacist consultation and follow-up. During these individual consultations, our pharmacist will discuss your medications and possible drug-related concerns, set reasonable goals, and ensure compliance with medication regimens.
