Customized Compounding

Every patient is different. And not all prescription drugs are the perfect fit

Have you ever wished your child’s medicine tasted better so they would take it without spitting it out?

Have you or a loved one struggled to cut a prescription tablet in half because it isn’t manufactured in the strength required?

Does your pet manage to eat every morsel of meat around the pill you’ve secretly hidden in its food?

Could your complex medication regimen be made easier if multiple medications were combined into a single dose?

These are the types of problems that customized pharmacy compounding can solve.

Every patient is different. And not all prescription drugs are the perfect fit

Because patients come in all shapes and sizes, medication should not be considered a “one-size-fixes-all” solution.

Fortunately, pharmacy compounding allows for customized prescription medications to be created for the specific needs of each patient. There are a wide range of scenarios where patients might require a compounded medication:

  • Oral medication that causes an upset stomach
  • Refusal or reluctance to take medication due to its taste
  • Physical issues with taking medication, such as gagging when swallowing pills
  • Allergies, sensitivities or another aversion to medication ingredients such as flavors or dyes, lactose, sugar, alcohol, gluten, or casein
  • Requiring a different dosage not available from a manufacturer
  • Difficulty keeping track of multiple medications
  • Medication that has been discontinued by the manufacturer
  • Patients who won’t take medication at all, especially children or pets
